PSO Pops at 4th of July Bash with Fireworks, Portland

7PM-10PM, July 4

Eastern Prom, Portland

Details: Join thousands of your closest friends as they gather on the Eastern Prom to welcome back the PSO Pops to Portland's annual 4th of July bash, complete with fireworks, wonderful patriotic music, food and fun. Reserved and VIP areas require tickets, but general seating is free.


Independence Day Classic Car Show, South Portland

11AM-2PM, July 4

Bug Light Park, South Portland

Details: Visitors can show off their antique and vintage autos, or can simply mill around to see the cars on display.


Annual Reading of the Declaration of Independence, South Portland

10AM-Noon, July 4

South Portland Historical Society Museum, South Portland

Details: Museum opens with FREE admission at 10AM, BBQ starts at 11AM (proceeds to benefit museum), reading happens at noon. Stay on in the park to enjoy kite flying and games that will bring you into the 4th of July Extravaganza (below).


4th of July Extravaganza, South Portland

5PM-10PM, July 4

Bug Light Park, South Portland

Details: Our Annual 4th of July Family Celebration! Pack some chairs and blankets (and some bug spray!) and come over to Bug Light Park for one of the best views of the fireworks from Portland Harbor. We will have food trucks (Eighty 8 Donuts, Mainely Burgers, Mainely Treats, Brûlée Bike, and Totally Awesome Vegan Food Truck!) We will have lawn games and activities including a slime booth from Mad Science, face painting from Party Palooga, and music from American Ride Maine throughout the night! The fun starts around 5:30PM, and the fireworks are set for around 9:15PM. This event is possible in thanks to our sponsor Town & Country Federal Credit Union Maine.

The park will be CLOSED to all traffic (except for boat traffic) at 4:30pm. Those who need Handicapped parking will be accommodated.


Annual Pine Point Neighborhood Parade and Fun Run, Scarborough

8AM, July 4

Pine Point, Scarborough

Details: Fun Run Registration starts at 8AM at Engine 4 Firehouse on 16 Saco St. The run kicks off at 8:45AM with the winner getting to carry the flag during the parade, which starts at 9AM at Hurd Park. The parade ends at Engine 4 Firehouse where prizes will be given out for best decorated person, bike, wagon and dog. Once the awards are handed out, everyone is welcome to have strawberry shortcake!


4th of July Fireworks, Old Orchard Beach

9:45PM, July 4

Old Orchard Beach Pier and Palace Playland, Old Orchard Beach

Details: Enjoy the view from various places along OOB.


4th of July Parade, Concert and Fireworks, Freeport

10AM-9PM, July 4

Main St. and L.L. Bean, Freeport

Details: Parade is at 10AM, so get your seat on the curb ready early! While you're at it, place a blanket or chairs at L.L. Bean's concert area so that when you come back at 7:30 for the free outdoor concert, you'll have a great seat. Finish the evening with fireworks at 9PM.

Kennebunk Beach, Kennebunk

Details: Enjoy the view from various places on Kennebunk Beach.
