Think Summit Adventure Center is only for Older Kiddos? Think Again!

Two 4-year-olds and two 7-year-olds had a blast at Summit Adventure Center at the Maine Mall!

My girls have been asking to visit Summit Adventure Center for a couple of years now, but I kept putting it off thinking that they were too young. Now that they are 4 and 7, I thought that we might give it a try, but wasn't really sure that they would find much to do, since I had always believed that it was more aimed at older kids and even adults. I am so glad we went and I was proven wrong!

With a buddy in tow for each girl, we made sure they all reached at least 40" and then we were off with an activity bracelet on each wrist, enabling the girls to do any activity as many times as they wanted to! A definite highlight of the visit for the older girls was the Hamster Balls and the Bumper Cars. Check out these videos: Hamster Balls and Bumper Cars.  Hilarious!

As for the little girls, they were fans of the Wrecking Ball and the Foam Ball Cannons. They didn't care if they were knocked down in the wrecking ball pit, nor that the wrecking ball was bigger than they were--they just got right back up and kept on playing! I had so much fun just watching them! As for the Foam Ball Cannons, I think the appeal in that activity was having to wear safety glasses!

Ultimately I am quite sure that Laser Tag was by far the favorite for all 4 girls. Though the vests were a little roomy for the girls, they still wore them like champs and ran around shooting their laser guns without abandon! None of the girls really worried about their score or who "got" who, they just had a truly good time running around the course, hiding and popping out from behind the blockades. When their time was up, the emission of whines and groans was a great indicator that they were having a fantastic time. So, with no one else in line, they went in for another round!

I highly recommend heading over to check out Summit Adventure Center at the Maine Mall. If your child is 40" or taller, he or she is bound to have a great time! In addition to the activities I mentioned, your child can also climb a two-story rock wall and practice his/her archery skills. The air-conditioned facility is great on a hot summer day and birthday parties are always a hit! Don't forget your socks (although if you do, as I did in this flip-flop wearing family, you can purchase some very nice ones for only $2/pair)! Have fun!
